In 85/86 Dr Maudarbocus was working as Emergency doctor for the Exxon group ( USA) for their oil drilling projects in Chad,Cameroon,Central Africa. A unique experience in the remotest areas of the planet with an exposure to tropical medicine, emergency medicine ( the nearest hospital facility being 800 kms from the drilling sites!!)

During this period there was a severe drought around what is now called the DARFUR area in west Sudan and Dr Maudarbocus joined hands with MSF ( Medecins Sans Frontieres ) to help save lives in these difficult times when malaria, yellow fever and dysentery were taking a huge toll among the famine stricken victims.
